About the Job
About the Role:
Our client is seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Scheduler/Planner to join their construction management and project controls team supporting one of our largest energy clients in Houston, Texas. In this role, you will own project schedules across multiple sites, ensuring complex capital projects are planned, monitored, and executed on time and within budget.

You will partner closely with project managers, construction managers, and key stakeholders to develop, maintain, and analyze schedules using Primavera P6 and MS Project, while supporting broader project controls, reporting, and risk mitigation efforts.

What You’ll Do:
Project Scheduling & Planning:
  • Create, maintain, and update detailed construction project schedules on a weekly basis.
  • Develop and manage Integrated Master Schedules and work package–level plans.
  • Prepare monthly schedule status reports and schedule analysis for internal leadership and external client reviews.
Apply advanced scheduling techniques, including:
  • Critical path analysis.
  •  Baseline management and variance analysis.
  •  Predecessor/successor logic and constraint types.
  •  Slack/float time evaluation.
  • Percent-complete methods and schedule resource loading.
Risk Management & Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify, communicate, and help mitigate schedule risks that could impact on-time delivery.
  • Work directly with project personnel and department managers to resolve schedule conflicts and constraints.
  • Recommend improvements to scheduling methods, processes, and procedures to enhance accuracy and timeliness.
  • Provide input on enhancements to scheduling tools and reporting to support project execution and controls.
Construction & Project Management Support:
  • Support capital project planning to ensure projects progress according to schedule and budget.
  • Assist with construction management activities, including scheduling and financial tracking.
  • Contribute to quality control and safety coordination as it relates to schedule execution.
  • Support project engineering by ensuring design, codes, and specifications are integrated into the project schedule.
  • Coordinate and track sub-contractor activities in alignment with the master schedule.
Administrative & Stakeholder Coordination:
  • Schedule and support project meetings; prepare and maintain meeting minutes.
  • Maintain up-to-date project documentation and schedule records.
  • Serve as a liaison with customers and internal partners on schedule-related topics.

What You Bring:
Required Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 5+ years management experience.
  • 4+ years of direct project controls experience using Primavera P6.
  • 3+ years of experience in facilities maintenance, plant operations, or engineering services.
Technical Skills:
  • Proven experience with Primavera P6 for construction project scheduling.
  • Hands-on MS Project experience.
  • Strong understanding of project management and project controls tools, systems, and best practices.
  • Advanced knowledge of project scheduling and documentation techniques and processes.
Strong PC skills, including:
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Adobe Writer.
  • Visio.
  • General Windows environment proficiency.
